Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated ensuring the opposition coalition secures majority at parliament is vital for the progress of the nation.
Addressing the press following a meeting with the President of Adhaalath Party Sheikh Imran Abdulla, the former president said strengthening the ties that back the President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is necessary to govern the country. Nasheed said to ensure a harmonious existence for citizens, all parties need to assist each other. He also stressed on the importance of dialogue and seeking consensus in decision making.
Addressing the meeting, Sheikh Imran Abdulla assured all parties shall work in unity to make the incoming government a success.
