Maldives cannot be developed without developing Addu: Former President Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated Maldives cannot be completely developed without developing Addu City.

Speaking at a gathering held in Hulhudhoo as part of his tour of Addu, former President Nasheed noted one main aim of the incoming government would be to grant freedom and space to operate and make decision to city councils to conduct developmental projects independently. Nasheed highlighted there are several works to be conducted to ensure presidential pledges are achieved, assuring to cooperate with Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in efforts to develop Addu City.

During his visit to Addu, Nasheed visited the Equatorial Convention Centre (ECC) and observed the progress of development of the hospital at the building. Moreover, he opened an office to be utilised for work related to environmental protection.
