Commissioner of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed has assured the police force will never disrespect the constitution.
In the official statement issued commemorating Republic Day, Commissioner Hamdhoon Rasheed noted one of the most important aspects of a republic is to ensure rights of people are protected, unity within the nation and peace in its fullest.
The commissioner added police should take the responsibility to ensure peace and security for the people which directly connects police forces and republic. In the special greetings message, Commissioner Hamdhoon noted the police force will not disappoint Maldivians in establishing internal security of the country.
Affirming the police will abide by the laws and regulations, Hamdhoon Rasheed said every step and every decision taken by the police is a step forward.
Furthermore, Hamdhoon stated Maldives has seen major infrastructure changes and criminals have changed their tactics in violating laws, adding with that in mind, the police force will work to the fullest. He expressed, however, it needs further enhancement.
