President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated the greatest importance should be given to establish justice and rule of law.

In his official statement on the occasion of the 50th Republic Day, the president-elect noted the republican system is of the people, by the people, for the people. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said discussion and understanding multiple views is main aspects of the republican form of a government. He highlighted the elected officials should always have the courage to respond the queries of the people.

Reflecting back on the turbulent past 10 years, the president-elect said the people will be the jury of the efforts of past governments. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assured his government will ensure the rights of the people are maintained during his presidency. He noted being elected his a huge responsibility rather than a privilege.

On conclusion, the president-elect wished for progress and peace for the people during his term in office.

Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will take oath of office on November 17, which will be the beginning of the 11th term of the republic.
