Second outlet of Costa Coffee opened in VIA

Costa Coffee has opened its second outlet in Velana International Airport (VIA).

The second Costa coffee outlet is located at the International Terminal Departure Hall. HMSHost, which operating Costa Coffee, revealed the new outlet will also serve all the products available from other Costa Coffee outlets.

Speaking to PSM News, General Manager of HMSHost Durgadash Shetty stated the beans are imported from UK and the pastries are also made from a specialised bakery. The new outlet will serve to promote the brand to tourists and visitors from across the world, according to the general manager.

Costa Coffee is a British multinational coffeehouse company headquartered in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Whitbread. Costa Coffee was founded in London in 1971 by the Costa family as a wholesale operation supplying roasted coffee to caterers and specialist Italian coffee shops.

Acquired by Whitbread in 1995, it has since grown to 3,401 stores across 31 countries. The business has 2,121 UK restaurants, over 6,000 Costa Express vending facilities and further 1,280 outlets overseas, including 460 in China.
