USD 246 million allocated for social protection

Ministry of Finance and Treasury has allocated USD 246 million for social protection in State Budget 2019.

In this regard, USD 97 million has been allocated for provision of pensions, USD 5 million has been allocated for children and family services, while USD 2.46 million has been allocated for children who are under state care.

In addition, over USD 77 million has been allocated to provide aid for patients in need and for people with disabilities. While USD 64 million has been allocated for healthcare insurance, USD 4 million has been set aside to provide medical attention to those in need.

Meanwhile, USD 32 million has been set aside to fund oil subsidies, while USD 15 million has been set aside to fund subsidies on staple food.
