Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannaan Yousuf has been appointment as the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The letter of appointment was handed over to the new deputy commissioner by Commissioner of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed.
Abdul Mannaan Yousuf was dismissed from Maldives Police Service for his efforts to implement the Supreme Court order issued on February 1, which the government regarded as illegal and unconstitutional. However, he was later given his rank in the police force on September 30, two days after the presidential election.
The promotion of Abdul Mannaan Yousuf was the first major change brought to the senior officers of the police force since the new administration took over on November 17.
