Ministers of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's cabinet have begun submitting their financial statements.
Speaking to PSM News, Chief Communication Strategist and Spokesperson of President's Office Ibrahim Hood said a deadline has been given for members appointed to the cabinet, government offices and independent institutions to submit the financial statements. Some ministers and appointees have now begun submitting their financial statements, he added assuring all members will submit the documents before the deadline. However, the spokesperson did not reveal how many members have already submitted the financial statements so far or the deadline set by the President's Office.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has vowed to reveal the financial statements of appointed members and their spouses within the first 100 days of his presidential term and assured to establish a mechanism the statements can be reviewed regularly.
This is the first time in Maldives that appointed members to the cabinet, government offices and independent institutions are made to submit their financial statements.
