President conveys national day felicitations to UAE

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conveyed felicitations of the 47th National Day of the UAE to the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In his message to the President of UAE, President Solih reflected on four decades of formal diplomatic ties that exist between the Maldives and the UAE. The president expressed hope to maintain and further cultivate the fruitful development partnership between the two brotherly countries that has been based on mutual trust, understanding and good will. He also stated the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has contributed generously towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives over the past years, for which the government and the people of Maldives remain deeply appreciative.

On a similar note, in his message to the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, the president stated the government of Maldives highly values the long-standing relations rooted in common adherence to Islam, shared values and mutual trust between both countries and conveyed his keen interest to establish a sound working relationship with the Government of UAE to expand the present scopes of economic, commercial, social and cultural cooperation.

In his message to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the president expressed confidence that through concerted efforts between the two countries, the existing brotherly relations will further strengthen.

The National Day of UAE commemorates the federal unification of the seven emirates to form the modern-day nation.
