Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Aishath Nahula has revealed domestic airfare will be made affordable to ease the efforts of travelling across the country.
The issue of high airfare in Maldives has not been addressed, Transport Minister Aishath Nahula said speaking at the ceremony held to celebrate the International Civil Aviation Day. The transport minister expressed the ticket prices have been increasing continuously, revealing it can be solved by creating a competitive environment for all domestic operators. In this regard, the minister revealed it can only be achieved if an open sky policy is implemented in Maldives.
Furthermore, she also expressed hope to reduce seaplane fares in the country.
