Vice President of Maldives Faisal Naseem has expressed a clean environment and a healthy life is a basic right of every individual.
Speaking to PSM News at the launching of the nationwide cleaning campaign, the vice president noted ensuring these rights to one another must be made a responsibility of all. Noting the amount of waste collected to beach and oceans are increasing, Faisal Naseem revealed government is exerting efforts to minimize or completely stop waste collected at beach and ocean with the assistance of councils.
Furthermore, highlighting waste is an issue faced mostly to densely populated islands, he noted the importance of establishing a sustainable waste management system rather than finding temporary solutions.
