President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has called upon all Islamic scholars, teachers, educational institutes to instil authentic Islamic knowledge in the hearts of the children, in order to protect them from making wrong choices in life, and to guide them in the right path. The president's appeal was made in his address published on the anniversary of the Day Maldives Embraced Islam.
In his address, President Solih noted the foundation of the unity among the Maldivian people was due to the firm Islamic faith. He also noted the main shield against all foreign influences was the strong adherence to the Islamic religion.
Furthermore, President Solih highlighted Islam was based on peace, kindness, forgiveness and unity and encouraged everyone to promote the true message of Islam. He also extended greetings and well wishes to all Maldivians on the anniversary of the Day Maldives Embraced Islam.
