National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) has completed damage assessment of 206 households following the recent floods in Male' City.
Speaking to media, Director General of NDMC Sofeenaz Hassan said assessments are still to be completed on 12 households which were delayed for different reasons. Noting 216 households reported damage due to floods, Sofeenaz stated efforts are underway to begin providing assistance for households that incurred damage. 6 houses incurred major damages due to flooding, according to NDMC.
Moreover, the centre revealed it has received USD 84,000 from individuals and businesses as assistance. NDMC noted goods such as mattresses, pillows, clothes and other daily household items were given to the families, adding funds will be granted to the families within the guidelines once the detailed assessments are concluded.
