President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has reiterated the commitment of the administration to ensure fair prices for local fisheries products. The president made the assurance in a message tweeted, on the occasion of the Fishermen’s Day of Maldives.
Conveying his best wishes to all local fishermen and all those who contribute to the industry, President Solih also reaffirmed the administration will continue to put in every effort to develop and promote the fisheries sector of Maldives. He assured to work towards enhancing the fisheries sector in Maldives.
The government will celebrate the 38th fishermen’s day colourfully in Gemanafushi in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, with President Solih attending the main function in celebrations scheduled for December 12.
In order to enhance the fisheries sector, several pledges related to fisheries sector have been included to be fulfilled in the first 100 days.
