Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has held discussions with Honorary Consul of Maldives in Chennai Dr. Hisamuddin Papa, regarding the challenges faced for Maldivians travelling to Chennai.
The discussions were held as part of the courtesy call paid by the honorary consul to the foreign minister. At the meeting held in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the honorary consul spoke on the issues faced to Maldivians travelling to Chennai and Maldivians residing in the south Indian city. Discussions were also focused on finding solutions for the issues identified.
While discussions were held to solve issues faced for Maldivians travelling to Chennai, many Maldivians travel for purposes such as medical and education.
