IFAWPCA to provide international opportunities to Maldives

President of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association (IFAWPCA) Mohamed Ali Janah has assured to explore and provide more international opportunities for Maldivian companies in the construction sector.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the 45th Annual Convention of IFAWPCA scheduled to be held in Maldives in 2020, Mohamed Ali Janah noted while the construction sector in Maldives has enhanced, Maldives still need to depend on foreign countries for construction materials, machinery and equipment. Moreover, he revealed the assistance of all institutions in the construction sector will be needed to successfully host the first ever such convention held in the country.

Maldives became a member of IFAWPCA in 2007. IFAWPCA was founded in 1956. In the beginning, the association had 8 membership countries but it had since increased to 19 membership nations and includes countries like India, China and Singapore.
