Minister of Communications, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has stated technical and practical talent is as important as theory in terms of the development efforts.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme, Minister Maleeh noted the success of the apprenticeship programme is proven as 75% of the participants are currently in employment. Noting a country will flourish with the engagement of youth, the minister said such programmes are a tool to build the youth of the nation.
Meanwhile, CEO and Managing Director of Dhiraagu Ismail Rasheed attributed the success of the programme to the staff of Dhiraagu.
At the graduation ceremony of the apprenticeship programme, 14 youth were awarded certificates of completion. Dhiraagu Apprentice Programme is an educational and training programme designed to provide youth with the skills and knowledge needed for the specific discipline along which they are keen to develop competencies. 179 youth have completed the programme so far, according to Dhiraagu.
