Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has opened opportunity to participate in the weekend market.
Speaking to PSM News, Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof stated while opportunity is opened for interested youth, preparations are almost complete. Minister Mahloof noted about 80 stalls will be located in the weekend market, adding it will be very different from the normal night markets held in Maldives.
Moreover, the youth minister revealed importance will be given for youth, women and start-ups as well as people with special needs. Speaking regarding the market, the minister further revealed the aim of the market is to provide a platform for like-minded youth to gather and support each other. He added special activities for children will be planned during the evenings.
Holding weekend markets is an electoral pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
