Minister of Communications, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has revealed plans to bring more submarine cables to Maldives.
It is crucial to enhance the digital connection between other countries to bring positive developments to Maldives, said Minister Maleeh Jamaal speaking to PSM News. In addition, Minister Maleeh spoke on the need for affordable internet services, highlighting efforts are underway to bring more submarine cables to Maldives from countries such as Singapore.
Furthermore, the minister announced the plan to enhance the available capacity in Maldives to improve connectivity. Moreover, the minister revealed Communications Authority of Maldives has now been tasked with surveying the internet rates in developed countries and small island developing states.
On this context, he stated once the survey is completed, efforts to reduce internet process will commence in Maldives.
