High level Maldivian delegation meets JBIC Governor

A high level delegation of the government of Maldives has met with the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Tadashi Maeda in Tokyo. Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer and Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail are leading a high level delegation in Japan.

The ministers briefed the governor on the economic agenda of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, while reiterating commitment of Maldives to embark on policies that are sustainable, environmentally friendly and allow for greater economic diversification. JBIC and the delegation also discussed ways to further enhance cooperation on future development projects conducted in Maldives.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Maldives Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of Maldives to Japan Ibrahim Uvais, officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Maldives Embassy in Tokyo.
