Presidential Commission to publish case list on December 30

The Commission on Investigation of Murders and Enforced Disappearances has revealed the details of the cases submitted to the commission will be published on December 30.

The presidential commission had provided a one-month period to submit cases related to murders and enforced disappearances for investigation. The commission has aimed to conclude all cases within three months after publishing the details.

In a tweet posted by the president of the commission, the deadline to submit the cases ended today, adding the details will be published on Sunday.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih established the commission by a Presidential Decree on November 17, the first day of his presidency. President Solih established the commission in an effort to carry out the responsibilities of the state in ensuring justice for all, by conducting independent investigations for unresolved cases.

The presidential commission comprises of Husnu Al Suood as its president, Adam Ibrahim, Fareesha Abdulla and Misbah Abbas as its members.

The commission is granted all the powers of an investigative authority.
