President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with members of Fuvahmulah City Council.
During the meeting, members of council briefed President Solih on the current developmental challenges faced in the city, especially noting the lack of manpower and resources in carrying out day to day labour. Members of the city council also emphasised on the importance of human development to create a more capable workforce.
Moreover, members of council held further discussions with the president on establishing clean drinking water and sanitation systems, proper electricity services, road development, and a proper waste management system in Fuvahmulah City.
Speaking during the meeting, President Solih stated a lot of these challenges would be addressed soon, as they are already considered in the next year’s budget. He further urged the council members to continue dialogue and work together with the relevant stakeholders to find long-lasting sustainable solutions.
