Maldives and Pakistan hold talks to further solidify ties

Maldives and Pakistan hold talks to further solidify the ties between the two countries. The talks were held during the courtesy call paid by Ambassador of Pakistan to Maldives Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Waseem Akram on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

During the call held at the President’s Office, President Solih emphasised on the 52 years of long standing bilateral relations that exist between the Maldives and Pakistan and expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government for the continued support and assistance extended to the Maldives especially in the area of education.

In this regard, the president and the ambassador shed light on various segments where existing ties between the two countries could further strengthen, including trade, education and other areas of mutual benefit.

Speaking at the meeting the Pakistani ambassador congratulated President Solih on his assumption of office and expressed hope to work together with the government of Maldives.
