Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has revealed 130 kilograms of narcotic drugs were seized in the past three years. Noting the use of drugs is a dangerous addiction, in a tweet, the acting commissioner said the police has made major achievements from their special operations conducted across the country.
Meanwhile, commemorating the new year's eve, Maldives Police Service initiated a special operation to stop the use of liquor and drugs using the dog squad. During the operation, police raided and checked places randomly and on intelligence information.
The operation initiated by Drug Enforcement Department is conducted in Male', Hulhumale', Villimale' and other nearby islands. The department further revealed the aim of the operation is to provide safety and protection for the community.
