President's Office to publish financial statements of political appointees next week

President's Office has revealed the financial statements of political appointees will be made public next week.

Speaking to the press, Spokesperson of President's Office Ibrahim Hood revealed the financial statements of political appointees at President's Office will be published next week, with the advice and assistance of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Transparency Maldives and other relevant authorities. Hood added the income statement of President, Vice President, cabinet ministers and all political appointees at the President's Office will be released next week. Hood also stated financial statements of all political appointees will be published before the end of the year.

It is an electoral pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to publicise the financial statements to increase transparency.
