Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has revealed the doctors advised to release former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb to house arrest for a period of two months. In a tweet, the home minister made the remarks following the transfer of the former vice president back to prison.
Meanwhile, close allies of Ahmed Adeeb are criticising the decision of the state to transfer him to prison, saying he is being taken against the advisory of doctors.
Responding to the criticism, Home Minister Imran said doctors advised to keep Adeeb in a homely environment from October 24, 2018 to December 24, 2018. He added the doctors have not requested to extend his stay at home.
Moreover, the minister assured to closely monitor his health and his treatment in prison, adding no individual will be kept in custody in violation of basic rights and laws.
