Police to discuss with PG Office to re-investigate speed launch blast

Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has revealed discussions will be held with Prosecutor General's Office to re-investigate the case regarding the video circulated in the media showing the blast on the presidential speed launch.

In an exclusive interview with PSM News, the acting commissioner of police said two videos are circulated in relation to the blast, adding discussions will be held with Prosecutor General's Office regarding both videos and whether a re-investigation is necessary.

Following the comments made by former Spokesperson at the President's Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali saying fire was not seen during the blast, two videos are being circulated in social media, with one video showing fire and the other video showing black smoke. On December 26, former spokesperson Muaz has alleged the video depicting fire is an edited version.

Hameed said if Prosecutor General's Office advises or if the judiciary orders to probe the case, an investigation will be commenced.
