Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir has revealed the government has plans to hold religious awareness programmes across Maldives. The Islamic minister made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the serial religious awareness programme. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Faisal Naseem and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Zahir stated the programme was initiated in an attempt to enhance religious awareness and to adapt Maldivians to Islamic good behaviours. The Islamic minister further said the programme will be held at least once a month. The programme will consist of Islamic lectures and sessions.
As part of the programme, Ministry of Islamic Affairs will send Islamic scholars to islands to hold religious programmes.
