Sri Lankan Ambassador pays a courtesy call on Vice President

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka Major General (Retd.) Thoradeniya has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Faisal Naseem.

During the call held at the President's Office, the vice president welcomed the ambassador and expressed good wishes from the government and the people of Maldives to the government and the people of Sri Lanka.

Emphasising on the strong bilateral ties that exist between Maldives and Sri Lanka, Vice President Naseem and Ambassador Thoradeniya expressed interest to further strengthen existing relations and to work together to enhance collaborations in areas that are of common benefit to both countries. During the talks, the vice president especially highlighted on developing sports like cricket.

Further, the vice president and the ambassador also noted the benefits of developing the tourism sectors of both countries. They thanked each other for the continuous support relayed between the two countries.
