President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended the deadline opened for complaint form submission for individuals who have faced legal action or imprisonment due to politically motivated reasons, since February 1, 2012. The new deadline for the complaint form submission is 1400 hours of January 22, 2019.
The notice issued in the government gazette said the deadline was extended due to numerous requests by the public for an extension. Previously the opportunity to submit the form was opened for 30 days from December 6, 2018.
As part of the pledge to review the cases of politically motivated detainees and to release those victims, President Solih formed a special committee to carry out the task on his first day in office.
