Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has revealed allegations against police officers will be investigated.
Speaking in an exclusive interview to PSM News, the acting commissioner said discussions will be held with the Prosecutor General's Office and National Integrity Commission to inquire how investigations on such allegations can be launched. He expressed concern over allegations against police officers of working under influence, planting evidence or obstructing investigations.
Assuring such allegations will be investigated, Mohamed Hameed expressed necessary actions will be taken against such police officers. Moreover, Hameed said such allegations not only reflect on individual officers, but rather the whole institution. He reiterated several efforts need to be exerted to reshape the police institution.
