President conveys condolences following passing away of pioneer local publisher

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conveyed condolences to the family of pioneer local publisher Ali Hussain, upon his passing away. The president also met with the family of late Ali Hussain. He was 82 years of age at the time of his passing.

Late Ali Hussain began his career in publishing 53 years ago and has introduced innovation and modern technology into the Maldives’ publishing industry. He founded Novelty Printers and Publishers, one of the leading publishers in the country. Prior to that, he has also served at the government publishers.

Late Ali Hussain received the Award of Recognition in 1979, for his services in developing the publishing industry. He has also received the Award of Honour in the same area, in the year 2003, and the Award for Outstanding Service to the Public on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence.

In addition to serving in the publishing industry, late Ali Hussain has made contributions in the areas of literature and history as well.
