Adeeb's Bodyguards transferred to house arrest

Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred two bodyguards of former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb to house arrest. The bodyguards were shifted to house arrest by the powers bestowed upon Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla.

Bodyguards Hassan Rikaz and Ahmed Amir were arrested in June 2016, following the probe into the blast on the presidential speed launch.

Both bodyguards were charged assisting Adeeb in planting an explosive on the presidential launch. They were charged for terrorism and sentenced to 10-years in prison.
