President appoints members to awards committees

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made appointments of some members to National Awards Committee and Special Achievement Awards Committee.

In this regard, Aneesa Ahmed was appointed as the Chairperson of National Awards Committee. Newly appointed members of National Awards Committee includes Ibrahim Ismail Ali, Zulfa Ibrahim and Aishath Naaz. Other members who are already in the committee include Corporate Service Secretary of the Presidents' Office Hussain Amir, Ahmed Ali Manik, Mohamed Ikram, Raheema Adam and Hassan Manik.

The National Award is conferred every year by the government to recognise and encourage the efforts of individuals and organisations who contribute in the development of the nation and the benefit of the society. National Award of Honour and National Award of Recognition are given as National Awards.

Meanwhile, Minister of Higher Education Ibrahim Hassan was appointed as the Chairperson of Special Achievement Awards Committee. Newly appointed members of the Special Achievement Awards Committee include Dr. Ahmed Ali Manik, Mariyam Nooradheen and Mariyam Shifzan. Other members who are already in the Committee includes Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa, Dr. Abdul Azeez Yoosuf and Aishath Shaheen.

Special Achievement Awards is conferred every year by the government to recognise individuals who achieve exceptional academic achievement and bring good name to the country, at a national level.
