IGMH introduces National Centre for Respiratory Medicine

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has officially inaugurated the National Centre for Respiratory Medicine. The centre was officially inaugurated by Chairman of the Governing Board Dr. Abdul Azeez Yoosuf.

The National Centre for Respiratory Medicine was established under the efforts to improve the services provided by the hospital and as part of the initiative of the administration to enhance the services of the state health facility, to provide specialised treatment for respiratory diseases.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Moosa Hussain said the centre is designed in a way it will control respiratory infections. The aim of such a special unit is to provide services for patients in a separate area isolated from others, he added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Azeez Yoosuf revealed the centre is divided into units that provide consultation, rehabilitation, and testing stating. He added the centre has a special unit for respiratory failures and a sleep lab for patients with disorders that occur during sleep.

All services provided by the centre would be covered by Aasandha insurance scheme.
