Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has appointed former State Minister Abdul Matheen as its Secretary General.
The appointment was made at a PPM council meeting held late Tuesday. Prior to his appointment, Matheen officially signed for the party.
The position of secretary general was vacant as Mohamed Hussain Shareef who previously filled the position signed for People's National Congress (PNC).
In recent weeks, several key figures from the leadership of PPM have signed for PNC.
