Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has handed over Fuvahmulah City transportation services to the local council. An agreement of the venture was signed by Minister of State for Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Ahmed Adil and Fuvahmulah City Council Mayor Abdulla Falah Shareef.
The task of handling transportation services was handed over to the city council, to enable providing the services more efficiently, according to the transport ministry. Speaking at the ceremony, State Minister Adil expressed hope the council will solve the existing issues with the ideas of the residents and improve the services.
The current administration aims to grant resourceful authority to the councils which were taken over by the government within the past five years, in efforts to decentralise Maldives.
