President to embark on an official visit to Sri Lanka

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided to embark on an official visit to neighbouring Sri Lanka.

President Solih will visit Sri Lanka from February 3-5 on an invitation from President of Sri Lanka Maithiripala Sirisena to attend the official function to mark the Independence Day of Sri Lanka as the chief guest, according to sources. President's Office did not disclose any further details regarding the trip.

High level dignitaries from Maldives and Sri Lanka attend official ceremonies marking the close relations between the two countries. This will be the first official trip to Sri Lanka since assuming office. However, the president made a personal trip to Sri Lanka following the win in the presidential election and once more after taking the oath of office.

Previously, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made official visits to India and UAE.
