Innamaadhoo Council briefs the President on the challenges faced in carrying out its mandate

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the council members of Innamaadhoo Island Council.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the members of the council briefed the president on the administration of the council and informed him on the challenges faced in carrying out the work of the Council. Moreover, they briefed the president on the aspirations and requests of the people of Innamaadhoo in developing the community.

The council members emphasised their top priority is to build a modern mosque near the harbour area. The members also noted that they have already arranged funds through a fundraising event and requested the president for assistance in arranging the remaining finance from the government budget and to help them to build the Mosque.

The other pending requirement highlighted was the development of sewerage system. Additionally, issues on electricity and boat building were also highlighted. The council also noted some requirements to other Islands in Raa Atoll and requested the president to look into the matters and find a solution to the concerns.

Speaking at the meeting, President Solih stated the meeting has brought to light many issues and concerns of the people and the administration would take necessary action after discussing with the relevant ministries.
