President appoints members to National Pay Commission

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has dismissed sitting members of the National Pay Commission and has appointed new members as per Article 6 of the National Pay Policy Act. The new composition of the National Pay Commission comprises of Mariyam Niyaf Mohamed, Afaf Ibrahim Ali Didi, Abdulla Ali and Fathimath Shaana Farooq.

Mariyam Niyaf Mohamed has attained Master of Science in Economics from University of Manchester in UK and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business/HR from the Management Science University in Malaysia. She is serving as a lecturer at the Business School of Maldives National University (MNU). Moreover, the president appointed Niyaf as the vice president of the National Pay Commission.

Afaf Ibrahim Ali Didi has attained Master of Business Administration (International) from Edith Cowan University in Australia.

Meanwhile, Abdulla Ali has attained Master of Arts in Economics from Eastern Michigan University in USA and is currently serving as the Regional Cooperation Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Fathimath Shaana Farooq is serving as Director General at Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure.
