Maldives discuss with India to enhance fisheries and agriculture training

Maldives and India discussed training needs in the agriculture, aquaculture, and fisheries sectors.

The discussions were held by Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Zaha Waheed and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Speaking regarding the meeting, Permanent Secretary of Fisheries Ministry Dr. Aminath Shaafia said the delegation of NSDC was informed on the areas where training programmes are needed. She noted a special programme will be formulated by NSDC to accommodate the trainings, adding the programmes will be held in Maldives and India. The training programme plan will be formed before September this year, according to fisheries ministry.

NSDC is a Public Private Partnership mandated to involve the private sector in skilling 150 million Indians by 2022.
