Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has assured to make necessary sacrifices to secure and protect Islamic religion in Maldives.
In a tweet, the home minister said in order to protect the religion, he is ready to take any action or make any sacrifice. He further affirmed that he will not hesitate to take necessary actions to protect and maintain the Islamic values and principles in the country.
Recently, hatred and comments against the Islam have circulated in social media. While some people protested on roads against the offenders, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has established a special committee to solve the issue.
The committee has decided to seek assistance from the intelligence service of Maldives Police Service and National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).
