Nolhivaranfaru Island Council shares concerns with President

Members of Nolhivaranfaru Island Council has met with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and shared their concerns.

At a meeting held at the President’s Office, the council members briefed the president on the administration of the council and informed the president on the challenges faced in carrying out the mandate of the council. Moreover, they briefed the president on the aspirations and requests of the people of Nolhivaranfaru in developing the community.

The council members emphasised that their top priority is to develop the tourism sector in Nolhivaranfaru. The Council members also emphasised the farmers of the Island need more marketing opportunities. Speaking more in this regard, the council members highlighted shortage of space in school and issues faced at health center due to no medical laboratory service. Additionally the Council members asked the government to facilitate finances and provide housing units for the relocated community in Nolhivaranfaru.

Speaking at the meeting President Solih stated the administration would take necessary action after discussing with the relevant ministries.
