Jumhooree Party (JP) has handed over party tickets to 8 individuals to contest for additional constituencies.
The party tickets were handed over to the individuals to contest for Ihavandhoo, Milandhoo, Nolhivaram, Holhudhoo, Naifaru, Kinbidhoo, Madaveli and Meedhoo.
Initially, JP revealed interest to contest for 36 constituencies. However, with the additional 8 constituencies, the total contestants competing from JP amounts to 44. The party has further hinted on competing for more constituencies.
Moreover, the electoral body has opened application opportunity to submit necessary documents to contest in the parliamentary elections until February 21.
The parliamentary elections is scheduled to be held on April 6.
