Maldives have participated in the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) 2019 held in Milan, Italy from February 10-12.
The fair is participated by 10 companies and 17 parties from the tourism sector of Maldives, along with Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). The Maldivian delegation is headed by Managing Director of MMPRC Thoyyib Mohamed.
BIT is an event that brings together tour operators from all over the world, a large audience of visitors, travel lovers, television and press. Sponsored by Fiera Milano, the most important player in the exhibition industry in Italy and one of the biggest in the world, Bit takes place every year, since 1980. Over the years, Bit has been an international meeting point for decision makers, professionals, buyers, sharply outlined and selected, coming from different areas and industry fields.
Italian market is one of the top five tourist markets in Maldives. In 2018, the tourist arrivals from Italy rose by 18.5 percent compared to 2017.
