Several members from the council of Maldivian Development Alliance (MDA) have quit the party.
The members who handed in the resignation from the party include president of the women’s council, sports ambassador and the president of the youth council. The members cited MDA does not provide a suitable condition to serve the people.
MDA, who was a coalition partner of the previous administration led by former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has announced to compete for 8 constituencies in the parliamentary elections. However, it is unclear if MDA will form a coalition for the April 6 polls.
