Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has held a Maldivian fishing vessel, according to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
Information Officer at MNDF Ibrahim Azim told PSM News that efforts are underway to gather information regarding the vessel with the assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives. The vessel was held by ICG as it wandered in to Indian waters, according to the information officer. MNDF said ICG will release the vessel as a goodwill gesture.
MNDF also holds any vessel or fishermen that wander in Maldivian waters.
