President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has described the framework of Judicial Service Commission (JSC) as an obstruction to the integrity of judges.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the Judicial Year 2019, President Solih said the mandate of JSC to hold the judges accountable is not formulated precisely, adding there are loop holes in the system. The president expressed the whole framework is an obstruction to the integrity of judges.
Moreover, President Solih stated various systems can be formed and rules can be regulated, adding what is missing is not rules, regulations or systems but honesty and legitimacy of individuals. He appealed all judges to make it their personal mission to ensure the rights of the people and to formulate independent courts.
