Safe electronic system to be established in all courts

Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi has revealed plans to establish a safe electronic system in all courts.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the judicial year 2019, Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi spoke on the major successes of the judiciary last year and revealed the plan for the upcoming year. In this regard, the chief justice highlighted as the number of cases filed at the courts are increasing, noteworthy efforts are underway solve issues in the magistrate courts in the islands. He said as part of the project initiated in 2016 to establish an electronic system in the courts, efforts are underway to install the case management system in 101 courts in Maldives. The remaining 96 courts will be connected via the system within the next four months, according to Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi.

During the ceremony, 22 judges were honourably discharged from their duties. Moreover, the strategic plan for 2019-2023 was launched at ceremony.

The judicial year was inaugurated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
