The Maldivian ministerial delegation in Cairo has met Minister of Education and Technical Education of Egypt Dr. Tarek Galal Shawki.
Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali is leading the delegation as a special envoy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. She is accompanied by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali and Chief of Staff at the President's Office Ali Zahir.
During the trip, the delegation met with Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb.
The main aim of the three-day trip is to find a solution to the shortage of teachers in Arabiyya School, according to education ministry. Moreover, the ministerial delegation met with Maldivian students residing in Egypt and inquired about the challenges faced for them. The education ministry added discussions will be held with religious scholars on maintaining the Islamic policies in Maldives.
Furthermore, focused discussions will be held on enhancing the education sector, especially Islamic education in Maldives.
